We all had fun in primary school drawing our favorite animal, or creating some kind of peculiar animal that no one has encountered before. Take a look at how this dad enjoys children’s artwork and recreates their art digitally on real life animals.
1. Horse
Did you know that horses sleep standing up? They have a unique locking mechanism in their legs called the “stay apparatus” that allows them to sleep standing up which helps them to quickly escape from predators if needed.
2. Cat
Cats have remarkable whisker navigation, they use their whiskers to detect changes in their environment, which helps them navigate in the dark and sense nearby objects. Cats can jump astonishingly high, up to six times their body length and that in a single bound.
3. Dog
Dogs have an incredible sense of smell, which is about 10,000 to 100,000 times more sensitive than that of humans. These super smellers are also sweaters, dogs sweat through the pads of their paws and not through their skin like humans.
4. Camel
Camels are extremely dry-mouthed, they can go for weeks without water, yet when they do drink – they can consume up to 40 gallons in one go. Camels live in the desert and often encounter severe sand storms, therefor they have multiple protective layers over their eyes. They have two rows of eyelashes and a third, transparent eyelid to protect their eyes.
5. Sheep
Sheep have a remarkable memory, such as remembering up to 50 different sheep as well as humans for years. Their rectangular pupils allow sheep to see nearly 360 degrees around them, helping them to detect predators.
6. Polar Bear
Polar bears live in ice cold circumstances where the sun shines occasionally, once the sun shines their black skin allows them to better absorb the heat. They are strong swimmers and can swim for days at a time in the cold arctic waters, covering vast distances in search of food.
7. Chameleon
The most characteristic element of a chameleon is their skin changing color. This is not only for camouflaging but also for communication purposes and a method to regulate their body temperature. Chameleons have an astonishing eye features, they can move their eyes independently which allows them to look in two different directions at once.
8. Bird
As of current estimates, there are approximately 10,000 to 11,000 species of birds worldwide. Birds have specialized feathers called flight feathers that are essential for flying. Some birds migrate thousands of miles between their breeding and wintering grounds, often navigating with remarkable precision.
9. Lion Cub
Lion cubs are playful learners and engage in play-fighting with their siblings, which helps them develop the skills they will need for hunting and social interactions as adults. At birth, cubs have rosette patterns (spots) on their fur that fade as they grow older. These spots help camouflage them in the grass which inevitably protects them from predators.
10. Goose
White geese are considered loyal animals, they are known for their strong pair bonds and typically mate for life. Both parents are responsible and participate in raising their young, providing protection and care. White geese can act as effective “watchdogs.” Their loud honking and aggressive behavior when threatened make them excellent at alerting others to potential dangers.
