A starving husky collapsed outside someone’s house. He was skinny and weak. The homeowners called the This Is Houston Rescue Center for help. Immediately rushing to the scene, the puppy’s rescuers were heartbroken by the sight. The poor husky used all of his energy to lift up his head as a cry for help.
Brutal Starvation Leads To Collapse
Homeowners, in Cleveland Texas, saw a starving husky collapse outside their house. He was extremely malnourished and covered in fleas. The poor puppy was in terrible shape and in desperate need of help. The homeowners sent a cry for help to the ThisIsHouston rescue center, who then came to save the day.
Mission Save The Husky
The suffering husky was helped into the car by the rescue team and vets. The journey back to the center was an hour long, with the team having to constantly check if the pup was still alive. If he had had to wait any longer for rescue the little guy would not have survived. The pup went through an inspection, his eyes were sunken and he was extremely malnourished. The pup, later named Jake, was offered food which he gratefully accepted, gulping it down.
The Journey Of Recovery
It took a week for Jake to be able to open his eyes, which turned out to be a stunning blue. A while later he managed to get and walk around, already seeming happier and full of gratefulness. Jake was on a specific schedule of eating, how much and how often. His mood continued to rise, showing his true colors, a warm, playful, and loving little man.
A Transformation That Brings Tears To Our Eyes
Still in the early days of recovery, Jake was full of energy despite his pain. He was always excited and happy for playtime, and not easily tired out. Jake was moved into a wonderful foster home with a couple who just wanted to give him the best life. Jake is so full of love and appreciation. Slowly growing back his hair, gaining more and more health, his full transformation shined. No matter what he was doing, you could see that Jake was so happy to be alive.
