They are generally found in wood rich areas in forest environment. This is also the reason due to which beavers are easy to see in forests of Quebec. They live in easily identified huts or dams. They can be observed on lakes or near rivers as their dams are built on water. Beavers are largest living semiaquatic rodents.

Their bodies grow up to 31 inches long and weigh around 16-30kg. Best time to see Beavers in Quebec?

Beavers can be find early in the morning or in the darker stage of twilight. They are active in both seasons that is summer and winter and can be found all year long.



It is also known as reindeer. It is that species of deer which has circumpolar distribution. They are found in north side of Quebec. They are such creatures that can travel 6000km of tundra over their whole life. It is the only species of dear in which both male and female have antlers.

Antlers of male caribou are branched out. It is basically found in tundra or taiga. Their diet includes mushrooms, lichens, sedges, grasses, willows, fruits etc. They mate usually from October to November. Sometimes male caribou’s fight with each other for female caribou.

Black Bear

Male black bear is larger than female black bear. The male black bear has more weigh that is 150 to 350 pounds as compare to female black bear that is 90 to 175 pounds. Male black bears can weigh up to 600 pounds too. It lives in various type of habitat specially tree covered areas , meadows, mountain areas , swamps and forests. It is the largest and heaviest animal of deer species.
