In the heart of a rescue mission that tugged at our emotions, we discovered two baby lions, Max and Mona, rescued from living in unimaginable conditions.

Max and Mona’s plight came to our attention through concerned citizens who couldn’t ignore their distress. Sold from a zoo, these majestic creatures found themselves confined to a small house – a living situation far from ideal for animals of their stature.

The owner, treating them like small dogs in a cramped cage, provided them with subpar sustenance, jeopardizing their well-being. When the team first encountered them, the gravity of the situation exceeded our worst expectations.

As they confronted the owner about the deplorable conditions, it became apparent that Max and Mona’s rescue was imperative. Surprisingly the owner showed a deep emotional connection to the cubs. Especially his son, who willingly sacrificed his feelings for the sake of their better future.

Relocating Max and Mona from Gaza to Jordan proved to be a logistical and emotional challenge. Operating in a conflict zone meant closed borders, but a compassionate hotel director stepped in, providing a safe haven for the team and the lions.
