Wild horses roam freely in America. They are majestic, wild and sometimes unpredictable. In these ten states, you will find them. Be cautious and respect their space.

Arizona

Arizona’s deserts and forests are home to wild horses. They are part of the state’s natural beauty. Look for them in the Salt River area.

California

California’s wild horses thrive in the state’s diverse landscapes. From the Modoc Plateau to the mountains, they live freely. Always keep a safe distance.

Colorado

In Colorado, wild horses can be found in the Sand Wash Basin. They roam the open spaces, a reminder of the Old West. Admire them from afar.

Idaho

Idaho’s wild horses are mostly in the Owyhee Desert. They have adapted to the harsh conditions. Seeing them is a unique experience.

Montana

Montana is known for its wild, open spaces. Wild horses here roam freely, especially in the Pryor Mountains. They are a symbol of the untamed spirit.

Nevada

Nevada has the largest population of wild horses. The wide open ranges of the state provide perfect habitat. They are often seen in the Virginia Range.

New Mexico

New Mexico’s wild horses are found in remote areas. They are descendants of Spanish mustangs. They live in the state’s rugged terrain.

Oregon
