Imagine finding an abandoned St. Bernard dog living alone in an empty home, needing to be saved. The poor guy was not doing so well. Luckily he was found!

Luckily, this good samaritan called the staff at Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL). They were able to lend a helping hand in this time of need.

Meet Stu

The staff decided he looked like a Stu and so got his new name! Unfortunately he was just 43 pounds. This is terribly underweight for his breed.

When he came in, Stu was very cold and dirty. Firstly, the staff gently cleaned him up, warmed him with some blankets and fed the hungry guy.

The Turn Around

With extra love in his life, his condition quickly turn around. Then he went off to his foster home by the end of the week!

Stu is a beautiful St. Bernard. Originally, the hospice at the Great St. Bernard Pass on the border between Italy and Switzerland bred them specifically for rescue work.
