Paulo Boute captured a jaguar preying on an anaconda. Although the anaconda is much smaller than the jaguar, it is still a challenge for the jaguar to capture.
Introduction
In Pantanal, Brazil, a jaguar was walking along a stream when an anaconda presented itself. This was quite unfortunate considering that one of anacondas’ few natural predators happen to be jaguars.
The Encounter
The jaguar was initially surprised at the anaconda and its defense mechanism – biting.
Don’t Mess With The Big Guy
The jaguar skillfully pinned the anaconda to the ground in the water. The anaconda used its last little bit of strength to jab at the jaguar, but it was in vain.
The Cat Emerges Victorious
With a few swift moves and precise bites, the jaguar manages to drag the anaconda out of the water, securing a decisive victory.
Will Jaguars Always Win?
Although the anaconda in this video is relatively small, it’s important to note that they can grow to massive sizes. Even if this had been a larger snake, the outcome likely would have remained the same.
Anaconda’s Natural Predators – The Jaguar
Anacondas have two natural predators: caimans and Jaguars. Anacondas are among the world’s largest and most powerful snakes. Therefore, they are quite a challenge for Jaguars, who only prey on anacondas on rare and opportunistic occasions. Both Jaguars and Anacondas are excellent swimmers and don’t hesitate to enter the water to hunt.
Facts about Jaguars
- Jaguars have the most substantial bite of all big cats. They exert a bite force of up to 2,000 pounds per square inch (psi).
- Jaguars symbolize power and strength among many cultures in Central and South America.
- They are excellent swimmers.
Facts about Anacondas
- The green anaconda is the heaviest and one of the longest snakes in the world.
- They spend most of their life in and around water.
- They are constrictors; they coil around their prey and squeeze until it suffocates.
A Fantastic Sighting
This sighting is very rare. It shows incredible strength. The jaguar and anaconda have special skills that put them at the top of the food chain in their environment.

In the case of the fight between the Tiger and the Anaconda, I did not see the winner of that fight. Who won?

@ROWLAND HELEGBE, and besides the answer your question the Jaguar won that battle
But if that were a full grown adult snake 25 ft in length and weighing 550 lb
And if the snake was able to get the cat deeper into the water?
And be able to wrap around to start crushing it?
He wouldn't stand a chance!!!
