When this first-time cat mom got her brand-new kitten she thought she knew what she was getting herself into. That cats were independent, liked their personal space, and only showed affection to certain people. But she couldn’t have been more wrong! Her cat, Petunia, completely changed her perspective about cats in the best possible way.
First-time Cat Mom
When Grace and her boyfriend moved into their new third-story walk-in apartment, they decided that a kitten would be the perfect addition to their family! Especially since they thought cats were super independent and loved their personal space and alone time. Which would allow the couple to have a pet without too much admin. So, Petunia, their adorable ragdoll kitten entered the picture.
I Know Nothing!
As Pentunia’s time with the first-time cat parents went along, they realized that they didn’t know much about cats! Luckily, they reached out to the cats of TikTok where they got a lot of insights and tips from other cat parents. One they really appreciated was the suggestion to keep their kitten in a smaller part of the house for the first while so that she could ease into her new space.
What Is Personal Space?
As Petunia started to explore the rest of the apartment they quickly noticed that this kitty wasn’t like any other. She was super clingy! Climbing on top of them and chilling on their necks, and always wanting to be close to her human mom while she was working from home. She even handed out kisses to anyone who would sit still long enough!
Scaredy Cat
The lovable and silly Petunia also had the habit of stalking her human parents and frightening them! It was only after Grace asked the TikTok cat community why her cat was obsessed with scaring her, that she learned that Petunia had chosen her as her person! And that this seemingly silly behavior was her way of showing her love!
Play Play and More Play
But the sneaky scary game isn’t the only pastime Petunia loves! She also enjoys a game of hide and seek or fetch with her mama. That is when she is not actively snuggled up and demanding all of their love and attention!

Petunia could not have proved her first-time cat mom more wrong with her lovable and cuddly personality, and Grace could not have been more pleased! This little family shares tons of love, and even though some might say that Petunia is the clingy one, it certainly looks to be going both ways!
