He found her alone and crying. She was young, too young to be on her own. Her fur was dirty, covered in marks like a child had scribbled on her. He hoped it wasn’t permanent. She cried again, a sharp sound that cut through the air. He spoke softly. She needed help.

A Fragile Little Thing

She kept crying as he carried her inside. Was she sick? Hungry? Just scared? He didn’t know, but he was determined to help. She trembled in his arms. He whispered to her, telling her she was safe. The puppy buried her face in his chest. He held her close, feeling her tiny heart racing.

Time For A Bath

The bath was ready. Warm water, gentle hands. He placed her in, speaking softly. She squirmed, uncertain. The dirt washed away, revealing soft fur underneath. The marks faded. She looked up at him, wide-eyed. He poured water over her back. Slowly, the crying stopped. He smiled. She was beginning to trust him.

A Fresh Start

Wrapped in a towel, she blinked at him, calmer now. He rubbed her dry, careful and patient. She smelled clean, warm. He ran his fingers through her damp fur, feeling how small she was. Her eyes were still uncertain, but her body relaxed. The fear was fading. He whispered again. “Welcome home, baby.”

A Bond Begins

She followed him now, her tiny paws tapping against the floor. No more crying. She stayed close, leaning against his leg. He reached down, scratching behind her ear. She looked up at him, her tail wagging for the first time. He smiled. The lost, crying puppy was gone. She had found her person.

A New Life Ahead

He had saved her, but in a way, she had saved him too. She had been alone, afraid, and crying. Now she had a home, a name, and someone to love her. He scooped her up, holding her close. She sighed, safe at last. He knew they were meant to find each other.
