While biking across the world, Dean Nicholson never expected his journey to take such an amazing turn. On a remote stretch of road, a tiny kitten darted out and chased after him, instantly capturing his attention. It was clear that the kitten, later named Nala, had been abandoned and was in need of help.

Dean was not able to leave her behind, so he made space in the front of his bag for the kitten. With Nala comfortably nestled in, Dean continued his ride. Unaware that this would be his new travel buddy for life! The bond between them grew quickly, with Nala often finding her favorite perch on Dean’s shoulder as they traversed countless miles together.

Their adventure was far from ordinary. Dean took Nala to a veterinarian to make sure she was healthy. Better yet he eventually got her a passport and a microchip so she could legally travel across borders with him! Their journey went on for over two years, filled with many different countries and beautiful landscapes.

Throughout their travels, Dean documented their story on Instagram. Their journey got many of the followers attention with their unique bond and things they saw along the way. Their page, @1bike1world, quickly gained popularity.

After two years on the road, the time came for Dean to bring Nala to his home, Scotland. When Nala finally met Dean’s family, they welcomed her with open arms. The journey that started with an unexpected meeting on a quiet road had transformed into a global adventure!
