When the volunteers first held the kittens, they noticed something different about their faces. Concerned, they took them to a veterinarian, who revealed an unexpected diagnosis: both kittens had Down syndrome. To make matters even more complicated, one of the kittens had an eyelid development disorder that would require surgery to prevent discomfort. Despite the news, the rescue team was determined to do everything they could to help these kittens thrive.

The two, though different in their personalities, leaned on each other for comfort and support.
