The Pixiebob is a relatively new breed, first appearing in 1985 in Washington State, United States. The story goes that Carol Ann Brewer saw a large tabby-like cat in her yard and followed it into the woods, where she found a small colony of wild cats resembling domestic cats. She took two of them home and started a breeding program to develop them into the Pixiebob we know today.
