Puppy Lays Motionless Dying As His Owner Stands Watching

A young man walking past saved a 6-week-old puppy in severe condition. The tiny puppy was lying desperately motionless on the pavement as his owner looked down on him. With a low chance of survival, the puppy fought heart-wrenchingly to survive.

Saved From a Cruel Owner and Brutal Start to Life

When walking along the pavement a young man noticed a tiny puppy laying motionless on the ground. The fading puppy’s owner simply stood by. The man took the puppy and headed straight to the vet. The 6-week-old puppy weighed a tiny 1 pound. It seemed like the puppy had been cruelly abused. He had extreme brain injuries, damaged internal organs, and was suffering from severe pneumonia. The little pup was given a 30% chance of survival. 

Dangerously Unaware

48 hours later and the puppy was still unconscious, the vets were pushing to do everything that they could to save his young life. He was on constant IV drips and antibiotics with round-the-clock surveillance. On day 5 everyone’s hope began to rise. The puppy was finally conscious, but the journey was far from over. He was still weak and fighting to survive. The drips and medication continued, as did the 24/7 checkups.

Slow Rising Hope

By day 15 the little pup was able to stand up. Although there was significant improvement, his brain was still severely swollen and he was still fighting intense pneumonia. The little one would not give up, he was a fighter. Day 60 came around and the little survivor continued to fight for his life. Unfortunately, another concern arose. It seemed that something was wrong with his eyes as he fought to stand up he would just walk in circles.

A Fragile Thread of Life

Finding out that the puppy had severe nerve damage was heartbreaking. He was going to be blind for the rest of his life. The team refused to give up on him. They gave him blended meat and were delighted to see that he could eat by himself. The little guy, now named Rico, was resilient, he fought hard. He began using his senses to move around. They visited as many doctors and vets as they could but the puppy’s eyes were unable to be saved.

Fighting For Justice

The cruel previous owner was reported and the young man who came to the rescue went to stand and testified. The story was heartbreaking and people found it so hard to believe that someone could do this to a tiny 6-week-old puppy. The owner claimed that Rico was already sick, he just didn’t want to care for him anymore. This seemed like a nightmare, but the heart-wrenching story was sadly real. No form of punishment was enough, this tiny fighter would forever be stuck with the consequences of the man’s evil actions.

Learning To Adapt

Rico was thriving as much as he could. He learned to use his senses for direction. The love for this puppy was unimaginable. With his struggles, Rico and his new parents were determined to ensure that he had the best possible life. This little pup had a cruel start to life, but he survived. A 30% chance of survival and he did it. I don’t know how someone could be so cruel to an innocent 6-week-old puppy, it’s heartbreaking.
