Found in a Hoarding Situation
Iris had come from a hoarding situation, part of a rescue mission involving nearly 400 dogs. The place posed as a rescue but never cared for the animals. They were neglected, left hungry for who knows how long. Iris had survived, but just barely. She was one of many who needed immediate care and love.
The First Meal in Who Knows How Long
During the rescue, volunteers filled food bowls for the dogs. It was clear that Iris and the others hadn’t eaten in days, maybe longer. They wagged their tails, excited to see people and smell food. Iris was gentle but desperate as she ate, savoring each bite as if it might be her last. She was painfully thin, yet full of hope.
No Foster Home Yet
Despite the joy of seeing many dogs go to foster homes, Iris remained behind. It was heartbreaking to watch her waiting, day after day, for her turn.
