The Emotional Reunion Of Retired Military Dog And His Former Handler 

Retired military dog, Donnie, is reunited with his former handler, Carlos Aranda. This was made possible by the wonderful organization, Paws of War. The organization works to bring together military dogs and their handlers, reuniting old friends. 

The Love And Loyalty of Military Canines

Donnie and Carlos spent 3 years together, growing a deep bond. With every mission and life saved, their bond grew to be unbreakable. Carlos claims that Donnie taught him many lessons that made him the man he is today. Donnie had been working in the military for much longer than Carlos. He shows that animals can teach us many things if we pay attention.

Incredible Connections

The team was involved in many successful missions, including thousands of explosive sweeps. Donnie was a top-grade military dog, even providing security for the President of the United States. Unfortunately, Donnie and Carlos were separated when Carlos was reassigned leaving Donnie back in Norfolk. Their bond remained special and neither forgot about their friendship. Soon after this, Donnie endured an injury to his leg that was severe enough to lead to instant medical retirement. 

Unique Bonds Don’t Break

After he heard about Donnie’s retirement, Carlos called Paws of War. This organization works hard to reconnect retired military dogs with their handlers. Carlos’ call was answered right away and the organizations set to work. They organized transportation for Donnie, with Nicki Dawson from Paws of War keeping him company to Lemoore.

Paws For War

Paws for War is dedicated to helping retired military dogs. They help provide them with all the medical care that they need and ensure that they live a happy life. One of their favorite parts of their work is reuniting these heroes with their handlers. Reconnecting the unbreakable bonds. 

A Family of Fighters

As you may have guessed, the two were overjoyed to be back together again. The reunion was emotional but full of appreciation and love. It was evident that the bond between them never broke, their friendship picked up right where it left off. According to Carlos, they are more than friends, they are family. He expresses his eternal gratitude to Paws of War for bringing his best friend back to him.
