Your dreams are more than just something your mind has made up. They are made up of things you have seen, even subconsciously. We can find deeper meanings within our dreams that tell us something about our inner selves. What do you see in your dreams? What are you trying to tell yourself?
Stories Of The Subconscious
You may have heard people say dreams are a window into our subconscious. This is more than just a saying, in many ways it’s true. Some may say that they don’t dream, however, each of us is said to have between 4 and 6 dreams per night. Each dream supposedly lasts around 10 – 20 minutes, but we forget 95% by the time we wake up.
Unveiling Nightly Vision
Why do we have dreams? Some people have dedicated their lives and studies to dreams, they are called oneirologists. There are various theories as to why we have dreams. Perhaps they are representations of our desires, our mental self sending us a warning, or our brains processing information gathered throughout the day.
Dreams Throughout The Years
Throughout history, dreams have been seen as signs or messages from the gods or someone in the afterlife. In some societies the dream world was seen as an extension of the real world, sometimes unable to identify the real world vs the dream world. What you saw in your dreams was interpreted into different meanings, be it animals, items, colors, etc.
Bats and Their Subconscious Messages
Seeing bats in your dreams is often seen as a sign of various emotions. They are one of the many symbols that are said to show you your subconscious feelings. Bats, as we know them, are animals of the night, since we tend to be sleeping during this time they are mysterious creatures. Many of us may automatically think of vampires when someone mentions bats. Remember Dracula in Hotel Transylvania?
Our Hidden Thoughts
With their mysterious nature, seeing a bat in your dreams is often seen as a sign of fear. They may even be a sign of an unresolved issue you need to look into. If you are bitten by a bat in your dreams, that is a different story. Being bitten acts as a message from your subconscious explaining that you are overwhelmed, maybe even feeling threatened.
Not All Bats Are Bad
Dreams can be very cryptic, just like life itself sometimes. Seeing a bat in your dreams is not always a bad sign. When you see a bat flying in your dreams it may be trying to guide you. Your subconscious may be telling you to trust your instincts to lead you in the right direction. A bat flying over your head is seen as a sign of transformation in your life. It is as if the bat is telling you to adapt and accept these changes.
Dead Ends
Death is not always seen as the end, it is, however, seen as the end of a chapter. Whatever comes next will be a different story. Dreaming of a dead bat is a symbol of the end of a certain chapter in your life. It is a vision, so to say, of the end of an era. Maybe you are moving house, graduating, or starting a new job. The bat has appeared to tell you that you need to let go of something and move on, or that something needs to be resolved and come to an end.
Decoding The Bat Omen
As with most things, there is a good side and a bad side to seeing bats in your dreams. In some cultures, they are evil, warnings, cautions, and messengers of darkness. However, in other cultures seeing them is a positive sign. It often means positive change, adapting to life changes, and following your intuition.
Nightime Narratives
Tonight when you go to sleep you will dream, but you will only be able to remember a maximum of 5% of these dreams. When you wake up tomorrow dig deep into your mind and try to see that 5%. What did you see? What did you feel? What did you hear? Maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you something that you need to know.
