Greg, a lifelong dog person, never imagined he would fall in love with a cat—until he met Mochi. This sweet feline, who had faced incredible challenges, completely changed his perspective. Mochi, previously named Dollar, had a rough start in life. After developing a severe infection, she lost her tail and part of her leg, ending up in the MSPCA shelter. It was there that Greg and his partner, Natalia, were chosen to give Mochi a second chance.
Love at First Sight
Greg didn’t expect to bond with a cat, but the moment he and Natalia met Mochi, everything changed. “Natalia was so excited, and I was trying to play it cool,” Greg recalls. But the second they saw Mochi, their hearts melted. Shelter staff were touched by the connection between the couple and the little cat, commenting that they had truly hit the jackpot. Despite her past, Mochi was full of life, love, and energy, quickly becoming a beloved part of their family.
Mochi’s Playful Spirit
Mochi’s infectious energy and zest for life brought joy to Greg’s home. Though she has trouble running in a straight line due to her missing tail, that doesn’t stop her from being playful and curious. She explores, hides, and plays as if nothing holds her back. Greg, once a devoted dog person, now finds himself cuddling and playing with Mochi every chance he gets. She has truly stolen his heart.
A Cat Lover in the Making
Greg never thought he’d be a cat person, but Mochi has transformed his world. Now, the first thing he does every morning is check on her, making sure she’s happy and cared for. Greg even jokes about getting a “see-through backpack” to take Mochi on walks. As he puts it, “I was not a cat person before, but now it’s totally different.” Mochi, once a fighter who survived hardship, has found her forever home and, in the process, turned Greg into a proud cat dad.
