A woman in Canada found a baby kitten in her backyard and decided she would do something about it. Here is her story. It was a regular day in Victoria, British Columbia, until a tiny kitten showed up in our backyard. My husband called me outside, saying there was something I needed to see. The kitten was small and alone. When I opened the door, she bolted. We knew she needed help, so we decided to leave out some food.
Finding the Kitten

We put food out and waited to see if she’d come back. Sure enough, she did. She was scared, her small frame clearly malnourished. We knew this kitten needed shelter, so we decided to try trapping her. Carefully, we set up a cage with food, hoping to coax her inside. She needed help, and we were determined.
Bringing Her Inside

After some patience, we managed to trap her safely and brought her inside. She was scared and unsure, but we gave her space. We placed her in the bathroom, where she could feel secure but still near us. Slowly, she began to trust us. Her fear turned into curiosity as she realized she was no longer alone.
As she grew more comfortable, we moved her into our master bedroom to give her more space. Her personality started to show as she became playful, especially at night. Though it meant sleepless nights, we were thrilled to see her coming out of her shell. She became part of our daily lives, curious and energetic.
Introducing Her to Piper

Once the kitten was comfortable, we introduced her to our other cat, Piper. We were nervous about how they would get along, but surprisingly, they took to each other quickly. They began playing and chasing one another around the house. Now, the kitten, who we named Baby, follows Piper everywhere, forming a strong bond between them.
A New Family Member

Two weeks before we found Baby, my daughter had asked if we would ever get another kitten. I had a feeling we would, and fate seemed to agree. Baby is now a beloved part of our family, living her best life. From being a scared stray to a playful kitten, she has filled our home with joy.
