A six-year-old British Shorthair cat named Narnia flaunts a truly extraordinary face. His split-colored facial pattern—half gray, half black—sets him apart from the crowd. Then to top the whole look off his piercing eyes add the most distinguished splash of blue.

This unique kitty was born at the Chatterie de la Grâce cattery in France as part of the Celestia Project. The aim of the project was to breed British Shorthairs with striking blue eyes, a trait that is quite rare for the breed. However, Narnia’s charm didn’t stop in his eyes. His purr-fectly divided face made him an internet sensation almost overnight.

Stephanie Jiminez, Narnia’s owner and the breeder at Chatterie de la Grâce, knew from the start that Narnia was something special. “When Narnia was born, I was extremely surprised. I knew immediately that he was exceptional,” she shared. From that moment, it was clear Narnia was destined for fame.

Stephanie, like any proud mom, wanted to share Narnia’s uniqueness with the world. She quickly created his own Instagram account and soon Narnia’s otherworldly appearance took the internet by storm. As his fan base grew, people began to question if his extraordinary looks could be passed on to his kittens.

Driven by curiosity, Stephanie paired Narnia with Bella, a beautiful cat with her own striking features. Bella didn’t have Narnia’s split face, but she was a stunning match. The question on everyone’s mind was: would their kittens inherit Narnia’s two-tone face?

Back when Narnia and Bella first welcomed their kittens, the results were both surprising and adorable. Although the kittens didn’t inherit their father’s split-colored face, their looks were like two sides of the same coin. Phoenix was born a solid gray, and Prada arrived with sleek black fur and a white speck on her face. Each sporting one of their father’s signature colors.

The couple went on to have several litters, but Narnia’s perfectly divided face remained one of a kind. All the kittens inherited was their parents’ legacy of beauty. Some kittens, like Chamallow and Twilight, were even lucky enough to inherit their father’s brilliant blue eyes.

The Mystery Behind His Appearance

When Narnia first faced the Earth, many believed he was a chimera cat due to his split face. Chimera cats have two different sets of DNA, due to two embryos fusing together early in development. Given Narnia’s unique look, his theory seemed to fit.

But interestingly, genetic testing revealed a different story. Despite his appearance, Narnia had just one set of DNA. So his remarkable facial coloring remains a mystery!

In a world full of beautiful cats, Narnia truly stands out as something special. His unique appearance and the mystery behind it serve as a reminder that sometimes, the most magical things remain unexplainable.

While his face surely makes a statement, Narnia’s legacy is much more than just his looks. As he continues to inspire people around the world to embrace their own uniqueness, we too need to inspire ourselves. Just like our cats, we are one of a kind.
