African elephants are also known for their intelligence and memory.
They can remember specific individuals and locations for many years.
They communicate with each other using a variety of vocalizations and scent markings to establish territory and communicate with other deer.
Both species have a long gestation period and give birth to a single offspring at a time.
Both species are classified as species of least concern on the IUCN Red List.
However, African elephants are facing more significant threats due to habitat loss and poaching.
