Animals in  British Columbia

Humpback Whale

These whales are around 16 meter in length and look chubby in body shape. They are mostly grey or black from the upper body side and white from the underside, throat and fins.

White-tailed Deer

White-tailed deer are reddish brown in color, growing up to two meters long. In the summer their backs fade from this hue into grey; they change again in winter when they become white on the underside.

Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron are around 60cm in height and their wingspan is of 1.5m. Both male and female are similar. They are tall with long legs and have a crooked neck which is “S” curved in shape.

COMMON LOON

Common loon is also known as Great Northern Diver which is a large family of loon or family of birds. Breeding adults have wide black head, with green, purple or blues color shinning neck, upper parts are black-grey in color.

Canada Goose

They are large, wild geese found in the British Columbia region. They have black heads and necks with white cheeks, and brown bodies. They can be seen during migration time as they travel across Atlantic regions.

AMERICAN BISON

North American Bison are also named as buffalo and are very large animals. They have thick dark brown color crown of head. They can stand up to 2. Tall and weighs up to a ton.
