These are the best breeds if you're new to the game:

Bichon Frise

They are happy-go-lucky dogs that only need moderate exercise.

But their curly hair needs frequent attention.

BOXER

Boxers are great with children and easy to train.

Note that they are high-energy.

CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL

These dogs are extremely affectionate and have a calm temperament.
