Seagull Vs. Dolphin

Have you ever seen the unlikely scene of a seagull snatching a meal from a dolphin?

It might sound far-fetched, but this fascinating interaction recently occurred off the coast of Florida.

Marine scientists were astonished to witness such an occurrence.

Seagulls and dolphins: two marine creatures that you might not immediately assume much in common.

Usually seagulls can often be seen flying above dolphins as  they swim through the waves or trailing behind as the larger mammals  dive down to catch their dinner.

For instance, some researchers believe that seagulls are attracted to the fish scraps that dolphins leave behind as they hunt.

Others have theorized that the birds might use the dolphins to scout their meals.

They can typically be seen grabbing small, fish-like prey such as anchovies, sardines, and small squid from dolphins.

While seagulls may be unable to take down larger games independently, they are more than happy to scavenge whenever possible.

It’s important to note that dolphins are not always willing to share their food and will fight to protect their meals.

Seagulls often try to distract the dolphins before swooping in for the steal.

There is still so much more to discover about these incredible creatures!
