Tough life can befall anyone but it is when these hitches affect our own kin that it hurts most. Despite their love for their dog or pets, people who are financially challenged have to make some tough sacrifice and one of them is giving up their pets.
This moving story will explore Ritter, a dog who found himself without a home and a family that has forsaken him and the world where he is now alone.
A Tragic Farewell
Ritter the dog’s family, struggling in front of challenges, finally became to the crisis. They came to the understanding that both Ritter and his sibling had to be given up to Humane Society located in Hamilton County, Indiana. They received them with open doors at the shelter and Ritter had clearly been through a lot.
The spirit within him was broken and hope seemed to be lost in him. What was his family’s reason for abandoning him in the boarding house? Of course, Ritter the dog could not understand it, but at the same time, he yearned for the return of Kiiza and the other boys.
A Cry for Help
Hopeless of finding someone, let alone take the dog in, to foster or adopt Ritter, the shelter workers decided to bring attention to the dog’s case and took a picture of the sad dog and posted it on different social media platforms.
It went viral within the four corners of the world, and warmed hearts in every platform it was posted. Others said that they will come out in support of Ritter the dog and offered their desire to assist in a demonstration.
Megan, a compassionate shelter worker, said that Ritter’s story was not unusual and she had seen the same problems in many other animals in that position.
From Despair to Hope
While Ritter’s sibling still awaited a new family, Ritter’s newfound visibility worked wonders. Social media attention led him to his forever home, where he now thrives. His sibling, though not as fortunate yet, receives unwavering care from the shelter staff.
Their dedication underscores the remarkable resilience of these dogs, and their commitment to helping each one find a loving family.

As much as it is saddening to see that such animals are abused, it is something of consolation to know that the shelter workers do all that they can to ensure that the dogs are given a shot at a normal life.
