In a heartwarming act of compassion, Lacy Moore, a senior at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, rescued Henny, an 8-year-old mixed-breed dog, from the euthanasia list at DeKalb County Animal Services. Henny had been at the shelter since March without finding a permanent home and was scheduled for euthanasia on October 8, 2024. Moore’s timely intervention saved Henny’s life just hours before it was too late.
Immediate Bond Forms Between Rescuer and Dog
Upon bringing Henny home, Moore was initially uncertain about how he would adjust to a new environment.To her relief, Henny settled in immediately, behaving as if he had always been part of her household.This instant connection reassured Moore that she had made the right decision.

Initially, Moore intended to foster Hendrix temporarily to save him from euthanasia. However, after spending a week together, she realized she couldn’t part with him. Moore informed the shelter of her decision to adopt Hendrix permanently, ensuring he would have a loving home for the rest of his life.
