This bear was stuck in a plastic container for a whole month before incredible wildlife services successfully rescued her.
For a staggering 28 days, a bear wandered the landscapes of Florida with a plastic container tragically stuck on its head.
This container, believed to be a part of an automatic pet feeder, became a symbol of the bear’s struggle against human-induced hazards in the wild.
Eventually the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission managed to trap the bear, who weighed 250 pounds.
The bear sustained injuries around her neck and face. Luckily, despite her ordeal, she was in good physical condition.
After a period of close monitoring to ensure her health and ability to eat and drink normally, they released her into the secure surroundings.
This incident is a grim reminder of the pervasive issue of plastic pollution affecting wildlife globally.
This global issue calls for urgent action to protect our wildlife and preserve our ecosystems.
Every year, approximately 8 million metric tons of plastic find their way into our oceans.
Moreover, according to estimations, around 700 species are at risk of extinction due to the ingestion and entanglement in plastic waste.
