Have you ever wondered who would come out on top in a head-to-head matchup between these two impressive creatures?

First out; some determining  factors

 Size

50 -90 pounds

3,300-7,100 pounds

Regarding size, hippopotamuses and German Shepherds are no match. Hippopotamuses rank among the largest mammals and with their muscular, stocky build and jaws capable of crushing almost anything.

 Teeth

Have sharp teeth for biting and tearing

Have elongated canine teeth up to 20 inches long

 Temperament

They can become aggressive or develop behavioural issues if they are not properly trained or if they feel  protective of their family.

Hippos are known to be territorial and aggressive creatures

When put in a face-off

The sheer size and weight of the Hippo would give it a clear advantage over the agile German Shepherd.
