Largest North American Black Bear

In the forests of North America, there is a special kind of bear that is big and interesting.

It’s called the North American black bear, and it has always fascinated people who love animals and scientists who study them.

The North American Black Bear is a massive mammal.

Throughout Pacific Northwest's forests and mountains


With males weighing anywhere from 130 to 660 pounds and females usually weighing between 90 and 300 pounds.

Their size and weight can vary greatly depending on their region and  food availability, with individuals living in areas with abundant food  sources growing larger than those with fewer resources.

Omnivorous, will eat just about anything they get their paws on


The most noticeable characteristic of the North American Black Bear is  its dark fur, which can range from jet black to light brownish-gray.

Up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) in length
