Adult male alligator is around 11 feet and 500 pounds
Females tend to be smaller at about 8 feet and 200 pounds

spend most of their time alone in the water or basking in the sun on the shoreline
During mating season, you may see multiple alligators congregating in the same area
Unique immune system that allows them to survive in environments that would be fatal to most other animals
