14. The World’s Rarest Zebra
The world’s rarest zebra is the Grevy’s zebra (Equus grevyi), which is native to Kenya and Ethiopia. This endangered species is distinguished by its narrower stripes, larger size, and rounder ears compared to other zebra species. Fewer than 2,000 Grevy’s zebras are believed to remain in the wild due to habitat loss, competition for resources, and poaching. Conservation efforts are crucial to protect these unique zebras, who are one of the most endangered animals in Africa.
