This adult pittie was found abandoned in a forest. He had a collar on, which had been there for a while as he grew, eventually starting to tighten around his neck. He was so terrified, yet grateful to be saved.
A Feral In A Forest
Scared and alone, Wally the pit bull had been living alone in the forest for months. It was clear that he had been alone since he was a pup. The collar around his neck had grown too small to the point that it was starting to choke him. A team was notified and instantly jumped into action. Mission ‘Save Wally’ was underway.

After many attempts, the team was finally able to catch him. Wally was taken to the shelter, terrified of the new environment. No time was wasted, Wally went straight to the vet, discovering just how much he had been through. His fear was still strong, but he was healing well from his surgery. The clinic took wonderful care of the terrified pup, paying close attention to his poor condition and stages of recovery.
On The Road To A Better Life
Wally’s recovery was starting to show. Although his health increased, he remained terrified of everything around him. Staying curled up in a ball and avoiding eye contact, the team realized that they had to get him out of the shelter. This pup was in desperate need of a loving home. A couple came into the shelter and proved to be a perfect match for Wally. They took Wally home the very same day, with no time wasted.
A Light At The End Of The Struggles
For weeks Wally remained in a state of fear. He had to be carried outside to relieve himself, staying on a leash as he was at risk of fleeing. The family had to have a lot of patience and comfort. They knew that this journey would not be easier. Knowing that he had a bad experience with collars, they decided to try letting him run free outside. This worked! After this Wally began showing his true colours. He started to notice that he was safe now, free to be himself.
A Family Of Love And Comfort
Wally’s transformation was highly influenced by his new sister, Molly. By watching Molly’s actions he began to learn that his new parents were trustworthy. Following her around on walks and learning from her actions, he soon began to become more comfortable in his new surroundings. Playing with new toys his colours burst out, running around the garden with pure joy. Wally’s life was now a life worth living and he showed his gratitude through his love for his new family. His transformation was a miracle and inspiration. Wally’s story shows us how much of a change can be made to an animal’s life with just a bit of love and patience.
