Puppy Saved By Soldier In War Zone Gains A Best Friend and a New Life

Whilst fighting in a war zone, this soldier heard the screams of what sounded like a child. Going to see what happened he discovered a puppy hiding in the rubble. Despite the events happening around them, the man knew he had to save her.

In The Rubble

Whilst amid a war zone, this soldier was sent to disarm homemade bombs. He heard the screams of a child and went to investigate. Instead of a child, he found a tiny puppy curled up in the rubble. The soldier had a warm heart and could not resist saving the puppy, now named Barrie. He took Barrie out and set him into a crate to take him to safety.

A Rescue Mission

The man took Barrie back to base, giving him a much-needed bath. The two quickly formed a strong bond. They spent every second together, becoming inseparable. Barrie would join the soldiers out on tasks and become a big part of the team. She lifted the morale of the entire team. Barrie received so much love and everyone was filled with joy when they saw her. Within the war environment, she brought some joy into the camp.

Stuck In Syria

The soldier was given leave and headed home. During this time the war got worse, he was unable to fly back for the next 2 weeks. Worried about his new best friend, he tried everything to organize for her to be transported to him. With the help of the wonderful company War Paws, they managed to get Barrie transported from Syria to Iraq. The next issue was getting her to England. She had to be quarantined for 3 months before being able to be transported to Paris.

A Warm Welcome Home

After many struggles and planning, the two were reunited. The soldier was worried that Barrie would not remember him, also concerned about the tiny puppy that he left behind now growing into this big dog. It took a few minutes but Barrie knew that this man was his rescuer. The heartwarming reunion was a great success. Little Barrie, now big Barrie, was finally home and safe from the war zone. The two were kindred souls. Many say that this wonderful soldier saved this puppy, but he claims that she saved him.
