Gray wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone in 1995. Since then, they become a vital part of the park’s ecosystem. Now that we have managed to get these wolves back into the park, spotting a wolf pack in the wild is surely an unforgettable experience.
#4 Elk

Elk are abundant in Yellowstone and frequently seen in open meadows. In fact, there are so many that they are sometimes spotted crossing roads. This makes them a common sight for visitors driving through the park, a sight I was fortunate enough to witness on my trip to Yellowstone! Additionally, during the fall, elks’ bugling calls are a common sound that can be heard echoing through the trees.
#3 Bald Eagles

Bald eagles nest in Yellowstone and are a magnificent sight, so it makes sense that this bird is the national animal of the United States. Often, these eagles can be seen soaring above the rivers and lakes looking for their next meal. Undoubtedly, these birds of prey are a symbol of American wildlife.

River otters are playful and energetic residents of Yellowstone’s waterways. Consequently, if you’re lucky enough to spot one, they can be seen swimming and hunting for fish. Because these guys are so playful, they inspire joy in people everywhere.
