A rare type of deer with odd looks was captured on a trail camera wandering in the woods of Murrysville, Pennsylvania. The footage released by wildlife streaming company, PixCams showed the animal with white splotches on its body exploring the forest. The sighting has fascinated nature enthusiasts who identified it as a piebald deer because of the distinct mix of brown and white coloring. Sightings of piebald deer are reported in less than one percent of the deer population which makes the incident significant especially since piebald deer have never been seen in the area according to Bill Powers, president of PixCams inc.

Piebald deer, unlike their albino counterparts, possess patches of white fur due to a genetic condition that causes areas of depigmentation. These deer maintain their brown eyes and black hooves, distinguishing them from albinos.
