Inside the shelter, the puppy found himself in a kennel. He pressed his body into a corner, trying to disappear. The worker watched him, understanding his fear. She offered him warm milk, which he slowly began to drink. His small body relaxed as the milk soothed him, and for the first time, he felt a bit safer.
