Quebec is home to the largest member of the deer family, the majestic moose. These incredible animals are a staple in Canadian wildlife, often found in the forests and wetlands of Quebec. Known for their impressive size and distinctive palmate antlers, moose are solitary creatures that thrive in boreal and mixed forests. They have long legs that aid in traversing the snowy and swampy terrain. It’s not uncommon to spot a moose while travelling through Quebec’s wild landscapes, especially in national parks like La Mauricie and Jacques Cartier.
The Elusive Lynx
The lynx, with its tufted ears and short tail, is a fascinating feline native to the Quebec wilderness. This elusive predator is well-adapted to cold climates, sporting thick fur and large paws that act as natural snowshoes.
