Louis was found alone, skinny, and in rough shape. Someone brought him in after seeing him near their apartment complex. He needed food, care, and warmth. More than anything, he needed to feel safe. He found that safety in his foster siblings. At first, he stayed close. Then he learned something better—he could sit right on top of them.
Learning From Vader And Nora
Louis gravitated toward Vader, an 80-pound dog with a calm presence. Vader didn’t mind the little pittie pressing against him. Over time, Louis grew bolder. He realized he could climb on top of Vader instead of just beside him. He also watched Vader and Nora take treats, waiting for his turn, learning manners by example.
Healing With Love And Patience
When Louis arrived, he was frail and covered in crusty skin. His foster family gave him medicated baths every few days and fed him small, frequent meals. He slowly gained strength. Vader and Nora treated him gently, sensing his fragility. They let him settle in at his own pace, showing him kindness without overwhelming him.
A Blanket Of Fur And Warmth
Despite soft blankets and warm clothing, Louis always preferred body heat. At first, he just stayed near Vader. Then, he began climbing onto him. Sitting on top of his foster siblings became his habit. It was his way of feeling secure. His new family laughed, watching him drape himself over his big brother like a living blanket.
Growing Stronger Every Day
Louis gained weight and confidence. His ribs no longer showed, and his eyes shone with happiness. He had grown into a sturdy 41-pound pup. When his foster family saw him months later, they were amazed. The timid, bony dog they had known was gone. In his place was a joyful, playful pittie who had found his place in the world.
A Safe And Happy Future
Louis once needed to press himself against others to feel safe. Now, he is strong enough to stand on his own. The love and patience of his foster family and dog siblings changed his life. He still enjoys snuggling up, but he no longer does it out of fear. He does it because he knows he belongs.
