The habitats of chimpanzees and raccoons don’t usually overlap, but in a Zoo strange situations can arise. This raccoon, either because of curiosity or stupidity, finds itself trapped inside a chimpanzee cage and might be the first raccoon to get thrown like frisbee by a monkey.

Chimps: Surprisingly Aggressive

Chimpanzees are indeed adorable and we humans can’t help to be fascinated by them and how alike us they are. Their reputation as super intelligent often blinds us to the fact that they can become quite aggressive – sometimes outright dangerous. This is especially true when their territory or social hierarchy is threatened.

These primates are much stronger than us: their strength is estimated to be about five to six times greater than that of humans. Their aggression is not just physical but also strategic, utilizing their social structures and intelligence to defend or expand their domain.

Raccoons: Smarter Than You Think

Raccoons may not rank very high when it comes to strength. On the other hand though, we should not underestimate their brainy-ness: these sneaky trash-lovers are actually very intelligent.

They have dexterous hands that can open almost anything, and they remember solutions to problems for up to three years! Their curiosity drives them to explore and sometimes intrude into human spaces and, as seen, other animal territories.

How Strong Is a Chimpanzee?

Like established, this is a strong monkey (6 times stronger than the average human). This is a result of their lifestyle and routine, which involves climbing and swinging from trees. According to rough estimates chimpanzee can exert a force of 800 pounds of force in a single pull – enough to crack open hard fruit like its nothing or bend open lighter metal bars.

Raccoons are known for their quick thinking and agility, which were on full display as the raccoon did its best to outsmart the chimpanzees (which outnumbered it by far). Their small size and nimbleness allow them to escape from larger predators, and is also probably what made it survive being thrown by a chimapnzee.

Closing Thoughts

While zoos are places where we get to see animals in their almost-natural-habitat. Apparently, it’s also places where animals that would normally never cross paths might bump into each other – maybe even starting fight with each other.
