This must be one of the most heartbreaking stories I’ve come across. This mama dog was abandoned by her abusive owner just before she was supposed to give birth. Forcing her to do so in horrible conditions, endangering both her and her newborn puppies.
Good Samaritans

Considered neighbors called the rescuers notifying them about a mama dog and her newborn puppies trying to survive in the rain. They also informed them of the heart-shattering reason behind this mama’s horrible predicament – her abusive owner threw her out of the house just a short while before she gave birth. Forcing her to have her babies in the pouring rain as she couldn’t find shelter in time.
The Rescue

When the rescuers arrived at her location, it was a devastating sight to behold. The poor mama dog, who did everything she could to keep her puppies warm and alive, was in a desolate condition. And the worst is, only some of the puppies she fought so hard for showed any signs of life.
Getting Them To Safety

It should come as no surprise that this mama dog did not trust humans, especially after the way she was treated by her ex-owner. The attempts made to get a leash on her and her and the puppies to safety were met with aggression. Luckily, she caved in the end and they got to the shelter.
More Heartbreak

A few hours later the rescuers could confirm the horrible news they were expecting – only one of the puppies survived. The harsh conditions and exposure were too much for the hardly one-day-old puppies to survive. Among the devastating news was some relief – both mama and her pup tested well during their medical checks.
Reunited

When the mama dog finally saw her remaining puppy she rushed to the pup and immediately showed her affection. Relieved that her baby was safe, the mama gently picked it up with her mouth and placed the pup next to her face. Nursing and kissing her puppy in a safe and warm area, so much different than their initial moments together.

Safe At Last
This mama dog endured far worse circumstances than most, and because of that, she is still understandably apprehensive and nervous around people. We are just happy that she and her pup could be rescued and can recover in a safe and warm environment.
