A Walk On The Beach
Walking along the beach with his owners, an australian shepherd named PJ, stumbled upon a turtle. Giving it a sniff and realising it had passed, PJ started using his to nose to push sand over the turtles body – over and over again. This happened until his body was completely blanketed in sand. Thus burying him to protect his body from predators and keep him safe.
The Funeral
Then after PJ was finished with his job, he sat nearby and watched his pile of sand. The owner celebrated and showed her affection by cuddling PJ. Thus rewarding him for a job well done. She put a stone on the pile and they had a loving memorial in remembrance of the turtles life.
What To Do If You Find A Turtle
Firstly, work out whether it has any signs of life. If alive, observe from afar and admire their beauty from a distance. Evidently giving it space without observing it. If you have a dog, put it on a leash.
Be careful as a nest might be nearby. You don’t want to disturb that or have your dog dig up its eggs.
Call Local Turtle Centers
If dead or alive, make sure to contact your local turtle or animal center. Especially, if the turtle looks injured or lost, reach out to the local wildlife authorities. They will know how to handle these situations best.
