It’s dawn when the hummingbirds engage in their morning wash. They are getting ready for their day and looking fabulous – if I do say so myself. Remind me to find out what their skincare routine looks like.
Is This Behavior Peculiar?
Hummingbirds are, for the most part, not very social creatures. So with 30 of them sharing a little bird bath, there is bound to be some drama. You can actually see the underlying competitiveness that characterizes hummingbird behavior in the video. Straight away the birds start catty – competing and harassing each other. Perhaps they see the water as a resource that they must claim territory over.
