Humpback whales have an impressive size and majestic presence. They can grow up to 60 feet long and weigh as much as 40 tons. Despite their size, humpback whales are known to be gentle giants. They are curious creatures and often approach boats and kayakers out of curiosity. However, it is always advised to keep a safe distance from these magnificent creatures to avoid any accidents.

A Rare Sight

Humpback whales are a sight to behold. They are known for their acrobatic displays, often leaping out of the water and slapping their tails on the surface. This behavior is known as breaching and is thought to be a way for the whales to communicate with each other or to remove parasites from their skin. Seeing a humpback whale up close is a rare and unforgettable experience.

Respect Nature

While having a close encounter with a humpback whale is thrilling, it is essential to remember to respect nature. Whales are protected species, and it is illegal to approach them too closely. Keeping a distance of at least 100 yards from any whale is recommended. Additionally, it is essential to be mindful of the noise levels and to avoid sudden movements that may startle the whale.
