Animals So Rare, You’ve Probably Never Heard of Them

Have you wondered recently what animals exist that are so rare, you did not know they are a thing? I was pretty curious myself. So let’s jump right in together!

#1 Amur Leopard

The amur leopard has been critically endangered since the 1990s. It is one of the rarest big cats across the globe. Surprisingly, it is believed that less than 100 of these leopards exist in the wild. Generally, identified by their lengthy legs, iconic spotted fur, and adaptability to hot and cold climates. 

#2 Vaquita

Unfortunately, the vaquita is critically endangered. It is a species of porpoise endemic to the northern end of the Gulf of California in Baja California, Mexico. It reaches a max length of 150 cm and it is the smallest of all living cetaceans.

#3 Javan Rhino

The Javan rhinoceros goes by many names, such as the Javan rhino, Sunda rhinoceros or lesser one-horned rhinoceros. It is a critically endangered animals and inhabits South Asia and Africa.

#4 Sumatran elephant

The Sumatran elephant is one of three subspecies of the Asian elephant. There are between 2,400 and 2,800 Sumatran elephants remaining in the world, split between both the wild and captivity.

Rare animals are a world full of awe! I have never seen any of these before, it would be an absolute dream come true! I think I may need to visit soon to see one for myself!
